George Goes to Europe - Day 0 and Day 1

No need to dust off the dictionary for this post, Mom at the keyboard so phraseology will be kept sweet and simple.

Packed and ready to go (KCI)

We left for a three week Austrian and Croatian adventure on Sunday, June 26. Hooray! George goes to Europe! And at only 7 and 1/2 months old! Perhaps we are crazy. Or are we awesome? I suspect a little of both.

En route from KC to Chicago - new planes taste GOOD!

O'Hare fun

Burning off some energy waiting to board our flight to Vienna

Our first flight to Chicago wasn't awful but certainly wasn't as painless as our journey to Montana just three months earlier. George is super mobile now and loves to be busy, so plane rides are not really his thing anymore. Add in the complication of teething for some extra fun and you have a 9 hour flight from Chicago to Vienna that was comprised of NO sleep for Mom and Dad and just 3 hours of broken sleep for George. Still, there were definitely moments of fun on the flight. George is a serious flirt and loves to coo and make eyes at all the ladies, young and old. And when he's happy it's hard to not be happy with him!

Bassinet baby!

Which one of these Baeths actually slept on the transatlantic flight?!

We arrived in Vienna this morning (Monday, June 27), wow... was that really just this morning!? We navigated the Vienna airport like pros, caught the Post Bus to the Westbahnhof then the U6 to our AirBnB. Coming back to Austria felt like going back to Seattle, it's like coming home again!

SO happy to be crawling around!
Tired little buddy

Dreams of catching a small nap were dashed by the noisy utility work going on right outside our window, evidently we weren't tired enough to sleep through jack hammering! So we walked around exploring the neighborhood a bit. We found a local market, an enormous Spar grocery, and had a nice lunch at a Gasthaus. Dad played with George at the apartment while finally I crashed on the couch for a quick rest. Then it was an early night for George, followed by a simple dinner of bread, cheeses, meats, apples, and berries (gooseberries are pretty fun!) and an early night for us as well. Though at the moment some indigestion is keeping Mom up for a bit longer. Wish I would have thought to pack some meds for myself! Tomorrow's outing will certainly include a stop at an Apotheke.
