It's all new!

It's been quite the last couple of weeks for George Henry William! At just over one month old, everything is new and exciting for him. Still, that doesn't mean he stays awake for all of these milestones. In fact, he nodded off just as we put him in his car seat to head out to find a Christmas tree and didn't wake until we pulled back into the garage a full 2.5 hours later. When this kid is out, he is out!

George "on the lookout" for the perfect tree

George doesn't need a car ride to put him to sleep. It's been unseasonably warm in the KC area the past few weeks, and this has enabled our small family to go outdoors for a few walks. George, of course, sleeps right through them, no matter how bright the sunshine or bumpy the sidewalk!

Out for a walk on a 60-degree December afternoon.

George really hit it off with Grandma and Grandpa Peloza (a.k.a. Donno and Gramps). And as much as George loved being held and cooed at by Katie's folks, his parents appreciated all the work they did cleaning up the house and making all the meals.

George is really starting to enjoy his "tummy time". He's lifting his head, shaking his butt, and squirming his legs as he grunts and groans like a pro. He did finally roll over today (12/18/15), but he has yet to duplicate the feat. It was clear that it was as much of a surprise to him as it was to Dad. If he can get his big belly off the ground, this kid's going to be off like a rocket and we're going to be hard pressed to keep up with him!

I don't know what we're doing, but we're sure having fun doing it!

It was finally time for George's first real bath. The sponge baths just weren't able to keep up with the mass quantities of spit-up that seems to end up everywhere; from Daddy's pants to Mommy's shirt, to behind George's ears and all over the back of his head. He really seemed to enjoy his time in the water and didn't cry a bit. Hey, if this crawling thing doesn't pan out, he can always be a swimmer.

This past Saturday we celebrated George's one month birthday. We can't believe he's over five weeks old now. Although the last month has just flown by, it seems at times that he's always been around.

Here's looking forward to the next month with George! He hasn't said anything, but I'm sure he's looking forward to his first Christmas and New Years.
