Sunday, July 17 - While it would be wonderful to stay in Europe for months rather than weeks... this marks the end our big trip to Europe.
We woke early and walked out the hotel front doors to catch the Post Bus at the Westbahnhof to the airport. We arrived at the airport, got checked in, and through security without any issues, though there was a heightened security presence at the airport (several soldiers with rather large guns). Had a nice but expensive breakfast in the airport and even got to wait with the fancy first class passengers before boarding - thanks, George! Much nicer than in 2013 when we had to wait with the masses in a chaotic group wondering if we'd have seat assignments (we did eventually)!
George was very good on the flight, even better than the first transatlantic flight. He slept for around 4 hours, allowing Mom and Dad some shut eye as well! After landing in Dulles several people from our flight stopped us in the airport to compliment George on his behavior. That felt so good!

I wish we could have had a 24+ layover in DC but no luck, so we pressed on KC and home. That second flight was not fun, but at least it wasn't very long and George slept the entire flight. Our luggage arrived, our neighbor picked us up and whisked us home. I think we were all asleep in our beds by 8:00pm. What. A. Day!

| Are. We. There. YET!?! |
Many people probably thought we were crazy to take a baby to Europe. And maybe we were. There were a few times when I thought maybe this wasn't such a good idea... but honestly, those times were very few. Overall we had a terrific time, and I think George enjoyed himself too. He certainly caused hundreds of smiles, saw lots of new things, and met lots of new friends. I cannot wait to take him back!
