Happy Fourth of July! Not a holiday here in Austria of course, but I'm not sad George was abroad for his first Independence Day. I'm pretty sure fireworks would scare the schnitzel out of him!
We enjoyed a pretty lazy day here in Graz. George got his two naps in during the day and we still made it out to the market and to do some browsing at Graz's ritzy department store, K&O. So many fun toys, it will be hard to settle on just one or two to bring home.

Back at the apartment we had a good time playing and even tried pears for the first time (he liked them of course) before the jackhammering on the tramline outside became too much for me and we escaped up the Schlossberg for some peace and refreshments with Daddy.

The jackhammering finally stopped just before 8:00pm (after starting at 5:00am!!!) so we could enjoy a Skype visit with Donno and Gramps. George loved showing off his banging on the table skills to Donno. NOTE: No one, under any circumstances, is to send George a drum kit - such a gift will be returned or donated and the giver will never see George again.

George got to stay up past his bedtime to hang out with his "mathematical grandparents", Roger and Sylvia. Approval was universal and much merriment was had.
