Day 11:
| At the first of 14 gates! |
We got an early start out of
Mune and had crossed the border back into Slovenia by 8:00am. Since George was denied playing at
Petrapelosa we selected an amazing castle as our rest stop en route to Vienna. Near the aptly named village of
St. Georgen am Langsee, we had lunch at a lakeside cafe before heading up the lift to the
Hochosterwitz Castle (being far to hot outside to hike up, we opted to hike down). The views from the top were amazing and exploring the castle (itself a UNESCO world heritage site) was fun for everyone!

| The museum featured real GIANT armor, which was George's favorite! |
| Coming down at one of the 14 gates, this one had a bridge! |
| Saying goodbye to the castle |
Our six hour drive finally came to an end with Vienna traffic proving to be pretty icky. Katie and George were safely dropped off with all our luggage at our Motel One at the
Westbahnhof while Nick returned the car at the airport (and received a full refund for the horrible car seat that left bruises on poor George's bum). Then we all met up in the city center for dinner at our favorite pizza place outside of Italy (
Regina Margherita)! After a delicious dinner and the rains had passed we walked around St. Stephen's Cathedral. Vienna is so pretty at night! The highlights of the evening for George were getting to explore the pizzaria's kitchen with our waitress and sitting in a REAL street sweeper!
| Prost! |
| PIZZA! George's favorite topping is now official salami |
| One hug and then he was gone, for probably 10 minutes! |
