Day 8:
Today was a full day. Nick enjoyed an early morning run around Mune while it was still cool. Thanks to his phone he was never lost, though he did come across three migrants in the woods. The migrant situation in central Europe has shifted from women and children refugees to adult men, possibly former soldiers from Syria and other war torn areas in the Middle East. They break into the old abandoned houses here for shelter and ask the locals for food and water. It is a little scary and the local police are quick to take them away. Thankfully there hasn't been any violence so far.
We headed out of Mune for a 10:00am meeting with a lawyer in Opatija. Not something the average tourist does on vacation, but no one has ever said we were average. It was a good meeting and Katie is on her way to owning a “holiday house” in Mune via inheritance from her great-grandfather! Perhaps by the end of the year the Peloza family home (which is a REAL fixer upper) could be in Katie’s name, if not certainly in Gramps’ name (this is step one), by the end of the year.

| The lawyer's office is behind that first floor green shuttered window. |
Once finished at the lawyer’s office it was off to find food and a beach to escape the heat. Mission accomplished!
Then back up into the hills to the peace and coolness of Mune. More visiting with friends and family in the evening, with Robert (a new PhD!) and cousin Igor stopping by. What a terrific day!
| A terrific lunch view! |
